Friday fun

Can you guess where this little sign resides in my house? I'll give you a hint...

I became tired of people entering my bathroom where they would find the toilet lid down, yet exiting and leaving the toilet lid up! I am pathetically fussy about this because Archie and Jimmy are both fascinated with water and have each taken an accidental dip in the bowl, which is what brings me to the sign.

While cruising my favourite website, Etsy, this summer I found this discrete yet firm "no soliciting" decal and promptly ordered it.  Random foot traffic to my house by people hawking everything from religion to eaves troughs has been remarkably reduced!   This got me thinking about creating a chic little decal for my bathroom that might be an attention-grabber and give folks a gentle reminder....

and so I give you the upstairs commode :-)

Oh, that is an awesome sign! I should make one up for my Zazzle store! I hope you do not mind my borrowing your idea.

Oh my goodness, silly kitties! That is NOT the swimming pool! I like the sign, but you might need one on the other side of the lid so they see it when it's in the up position and remember to lower it. MOL
Hope you're doing well!

That's a great decal for the toilet lid. :-)

We used to get a lot of people soliciting in our area, but now I just don't open the door if I don't recognize who is on the other side (peep hole). Yep, I'm a curmudgeon.

We guessed immediately because we have the same beef with a lot of visitors to our house! What is it with these people?!

Your Mama is very resourceful! We have this problem too and our Mama actually patrols the bathroom when people are visiting and then will slip in and close the lid after they are through. We have a few water lovers here too who have taken a dunking :p

Smart thinking, Cat!!
Oh nothing can be worse than a soaking wet and now mad kitty! lol

I wish we could get that "No Soliciting" sign for our blogs!
Fortunately Spam catches most of them, but...

Wishing you well on getting back to normal!
Hugs,
Kathy

You'd think that people would close the lid just out of politeness for humans, not just cats. But some people need reminders...

That's a great sign! Goro is very interested in water and had accident dipping in toilet when he was small, so lids of out toilets are always closed, too.

That's brilliant, Cat! Moosey is also utterly fascinated by water (so was our sweet angel Graphite), and it makes us crazy when people leave the lid up.

Hope you are doing well, dear friend.

Hugs from us all!

That is a great idea CAt. I am so glad to see you back blogging. You must be feeling a little better. Love the sign on the toilet. I don't ever have anyone else here, so I don't have to worry. But it is important for sure to close the lid. Take care and take it easy.

This is my obsession too, Cat! Our kitties are like our children, we foresee everything that can happen with them!

Surely we need a warning like this, the already Pretinha accidentally fell into the water twice.

I knew right away--my lid has been closed since the first kitten over 30 years ago! Besides, who wants to walk into the bathroom and look into the toilet? Of course, I live alone, so compliance is easy.

When our mum and dad first moved in together they lived with another couple and their cat, Neville. Neville loved to drink from the toilet and would jump up at the slightest opportunity. He once misjudged the time and tried to have a drink while the toilet was in use by the man they lived with. He needed a good scrubbing after that! Your sign is a very good idea.

We hope you are doing well Cat, and send our best purrs.
