We're baaaaaaaack!

Hi all, flat cats here in our private beach cabana.  Mum and dad eloped to Hawaii last week to get hitched and us four boys were the only wedding guests! It might be a while until the pics are ready, but mum is going to beg the photographer for some preview shots that she can post on the blog :-)  Stay tuned...

In the meantime, here we are having a vigorous game of ping pong.

Aloha!!!

Gone Fishing...

Hi cats and kittens Benjamin here with a little announcement....

As most of you guessed our parents are heading out of town early on Saturday at some uncatly hour of the morning.  They're back in a week though and thanks to Milo and Alfie's easy instructions, flat cats will be going along with them, so hopefully there will be some cute pics for the blog and a little surprise when they return!
Don't worry about us, mum's sister is coming to stay at the house for cat-sitting and general spoiling.  She is one of the only people in the world mum trusts to look after our precious selves :-)
See you in a week!

Funny Mancat Monday

I really hate to have a laugh at the cats expense, but yesterday Casper had his tongue out and looked so silly I just couldn't help running for the camera to take some pictures.

I couldn't believe he didn't feel it sticking out so far!

Casper usually looks so regal this was a definite departure for him

But he's still my beautiful boy :-)

The New Bed...

Yesterday we had a new bed delivered, or more accurately the frame.  This caused great excitement among the cats as three huge boxes were brought into the house.  The bed is a king size which posed a bit of a logistical problem because our home is not....

Our tiny beach house is about 100 years old, with uneven floors and only two closets in the entire place if you can believe that!  We have three bedrooms but they are little.  The master luckily has a slanted roof alcove at one end so my dresser (Robert's is in another room entirely) tucks nicely out of the way leaving a decent amount of floor space but the bed will take up just about the whole room.

The funny thing is that the mattress and box springs were delivered separately about a month ago but because the frame was a custom order from this company in California which specializes in iron beds, the delays have been endless!  So we have been sleeping with our new mattress on the floor for a while like a couple of hippies – LOL!!!

I must admit I love having a big bed.  The cats rarely sleep on Robert’s side, but I am regularly pinned down by all four.  I used to think king beds were gauche and for years I refused to even consider one.

Robert persisted mostly because he is tall (6’ 3”) and I think he wanted to lie diagonally without bothering me so his feet wouldn’t hang over the end.  Then after we got Jimmy who is an up-close night time cuddler I finally said to Robert that yes we now had to get the king bed because I just couldn’t take the crowding anymore.   I know Jim is just wee but four really made a difference!

I think the bed was well worth the wait and is absolutely gorgeous.  It's large yes, but the open bars give it an airy feel and it really isn't as overpowering as I was afraid it would be.

Can you see the crystal knobs :-)

Okay, wordless for Archie, but I just have to say I have no idea how he got the cube up onto the bottom glass of the coffee table!!!

Tuxie Tuesday

Do you people have any idea how hard I work around here?

I have to make sure daddy's shirts are laundered properly; he likes light starch

tutor the new kid on proper window wiffing technique

deposit furs on mum's coat before she leaves for work

inspect the flower arrangements

snuggle mum while she writes the blog (for inspiration)

help Casper with neighbourhood watch

and keep an eye on Archie.

No wonder I'm exhausted!

Clemmie would you like to come over and have a nap with me?

Vacuum Woes

This is my vacuum and it is broken.  I don't think I have to tell you that this is a crisis situation!
I phoned the nice people at Dyson and told them that with four cats who together shed an entirely new cat every single day, I just couldn't have a broken vacuum.
So they sent a courier to my house who brought a very big box.  Ben stopped playing with his kickaroo in order to give it the once over.
In his opinion it was indeed big enough to fit the vacuum inside.

Jimmy concurred so I packed it up.
While Jimmy checked the tape I called the courier.
Ben said his good-byes...
As the two biggest shedders in the house, Archie and Casper thought it best to steer clear of the whole situation and look as innocent as possible.

Now I'm not a spokesperson for Dyson or anything but it seems to me that if a company can pick-up, repair and return a vacuum in two business days free of charge, they are a cat owners dream!
