IN MEMORIAM

Since I started blogging, many friends that the cats and I have made have gone to the bridge. We wanted to make a page in tribute and remembrance of the kitties that we knew and who remain in our hearts even though they are no longer with us.

"I count myself in nothing else so happy
As in a soul rememb'ring my good friends."
~William Shakespeare

In Memoriam:

On November 19, 2012 our great friend Huffle from the blog Huffle Mawson Explorer Cat went to the bridge.  Huffle became suddenly ill while her parents were out of the country and went to the hospital where she was diagnosed with liver failure.  Our hearts break for Tracey, we know it was so difficult for her to be away from her little Huffle when she left for the bridge.  Huffle was a cornerstone of the Cat Blogosphere and the very first cat we met when we started blogging, if it weren't for her generously introducing us to all her friends we would not know anyone today. We will miss you terribly sweet girl!

On November 6, 2012 our beautiful friend Squashies from the blog TK and Squashies (and now Pip too) went to the bridge.  Squashies and her brother TK are senior cats who were adopted about four years ago and given a second chance to have a happy and loving home with Dee and her husband.  A couple of months ago Squashies became unwell, she had many vet visits and procedures and even some blood transfusions from special donor kitties.  She fought very hard to stay with her family but sadly this was not to be.  We miss Squashies very much and send her family all our love and healing purrs.

On February 17, 2012 a brave and beautiful kitty named Noona from the blog Gods Little People traveled to the bridge.   Noona had been saved by Joan who works tirelessly rescuing as many lost and abandoned souls that she can on the tiny Greek island where she lives.  Noona was in horrible condition with mammary hyperplasia when she was found, after being nursed back to health she blossomed into a beautiful girl.  Joan is convinced that Noona knew she was given a reprieve from death and enjoyed every moment of her life to the maximum.  It seems particularly cruel that her life was cut short by the terrible FIP after surviving such harsh beginnings.  We will miss you very much sweet Noona!!!

On April 16, 2011 early in the morning our dear friend Lewis from the blog Critters in the Cottage went to the bridge unexpectedly, he had just turned four.  The morning before Lewis had become very ill and was rushed to the vet.  The test showed he had IMHA or Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia and he was started on treatment immediately.  Unfortunately the disease was too far advanced and lovely Lewis didn't make it.  His family and all who knew him were heartbroken!

On April 1, 2011 a kitty that we hardly knew and yet touched the entire Cat Blogosphere went to the bridge.  Shell who's foster mum writes the blog Feral Cat Behaviour came from a bad situation and was in a very bad way.  Mary Ann worked tirelessly with Shell and her vet to help her recover from illness and neglect but there came a point when Shell told her mum that she could not fight anymore.  She had known love and care for six short weeks and she was very happy but it was time for her to go to the bridge where she could be at peace.  We will all miss Shell and her fighting spirit!

On March 12, 2011 that grand old gentleman Mickey Moonshine from Mickey's Musings went to the bridge, he was 17 3/4 years.  He was feeling poorly for a little while and had a growth in his abdomen.  Mickey had been sleeping a lot and not eating much then finally he told his mum that it was time to go.  Mickey was dearly loved in the CB and will be missed but we know there are many good friends waiting to welcome him at the bridge.

On March 5, 2011 sweet Maggie from Animal Shelter Volunteer Life was helped to the bridge.  Maggie had not been feeling well for a few weeks, and it was discovered that she had a malignant tumor in her abdomen.  Her mum and dad consulted an oncologist and investigated all options, but in the end Maggie was suffering and told her family it was time to go.  Gentle Maggie you will be sorely missed by all your friends!

On February 16, 2011 our very good friend Annie from Fuzzy Tales was helped to the bridge.  Annie had not been well for quite some and spent several nights at the vet recently.  Her mum Kim had tried all sorts of medications from the vet and herbal remedies that she had researched extensively but Annie was not getting better, in fact she was deteriorating.  When it became apparent that her suffering was too great she was helped to the bridge.  We here at Cat's Cats are particularly sad because Annie and her brothers Derry and Nicki along with their mum were among our first friends in the CB and we feel very close to them.  We will miss you so much Dreamboat Annie!!!

On November 20, 2010 our lovely friend Inigo went to the Bridge.  He had been suffering from a heart condition for a little while and we were all hoping very hard that he would live a long time with the help of his medication.  However, he developed a secondary condition in his liver and Rumblemum and dad knew it was time to let him go.  My boys think his heart was so big and full of love it just wore out.

On November 19, 2010 a beautiful calico named Patches went to the Bridge.  We had just discovered The Big Piney Woods Cats blog a few days earlier and read of Patches' illness.  She had Lupus.

On November 15, 2010, our friend Marg's cat Fuzzy went to the Bridge.  He had not been eating for a little while and it turned out he had a large tumor in his abdomen.  Marg thinks Fuzzy might not have been well for a long time but was hiding it from her.

On November 14, 2010, our friend Gatsbi went to the Bridge.  She was having seizures and went to the emergency vet.  The decision was made not to let her suffer.  It was believed afterward that she had abdominal cancer.

On October 30, 2010 our friend Skeeter went to the Bridge.  Skeeter was very ill and told her mum it was time to go.

On September 23, 2010 our own sweet Molly went to the bridge.  You can read about her passing on this date in my blog archive.

On September 21, 2010 our friend Sniffie went to the Bridge.  Sniffie had cancer and several large abdominal masses, when she started to go downhill her loving family could not let her suffer anymore.

Also on August 18, 2010 a beautiful Oriental Shorthair named Luxor went to the Bridge.  He was diagnosed with heart disease in January 2009.  I had found Luxor's blog before I started my own blog and loved to read about his exotic self and his two sisters.

On August 18, 2010 a beloved cat named Fat Eric went to the Bridge.  In a sad turn of events, his parents were out of town when he was diagnosed with a tumor on his kidney and the decision was made that he should not suffer anymore.  I had just started following Eric's blog and did not know him very well but he was a much loved kitty in the CB

On August 17, 2010 a tiny kitten named Wintergreen went to the Bridge.  Her story of courage captivated the Cat Blogosphere and everyone hoped she would recover to health, alas she did not.  She did however inspire Winnie's Wish, an adoption drive to find her housemate kitties forever homes :-)
