And then there were three...

Molly 1991 - 2010
Molly went to the bridge tonight at 6:30pm, she was two months shy of her nineteenth birthday.  Robert and I were with her, she laid her lovely face down into my hand and then she was gone.  It was without a doubt her time and the right thing to do but that did not make it any easier.  I know our sweet Maxie was at the Bridge to meet her along with many of the kitties from the Cat Blogosphere who have passed lately; in particular beautiful Sniffie and little Winnie :-)  When I rescued Molly all those years ago I gave her a safe and loving home, good food and a warm bed, today my heart is broken because she gave me so much more in return!

I would like to thank everyone who left a comment on my blog yesterday and today, you have no idea how comforting it was to hear from so many friends.  A special thank you to Brian who posted on the CB that Molly was poorly.  As a result of that kind gesture, bloggers and kitties who we have never even met before left us comments and sent hugs and purrs!  The CB is such a wonderful, supportive community and I feel privileged to be a part of it.

When you are sorrowful
look into your heart
and you shall see that
you are weeping
for that which has been
your delight

I am so sorry to hear about Molly. I know that your heart is breaking and I just don't have the appropriate words, except to say, she is running free now and is free from pain. I bet she and Sniffie are having a great time playing Thundering Herds of Elephants right now.

Comforting purrs for you.

Dear Cat,

My heart breaks for you and I feel your sadness, in part because it brings back memories of my own after reading how Molly came to pass.

Your quote is very fitting.

May Molly find peace and and be back with those who have passed before, playing among sun puddle rolling fields of green catnip, where birds are perched high in a tree, filling the air with their song.

My human is weepy all over again because Molly reminded her so much of the kitty who came before me, the kitty she rescued from the streets of San Pedro, CA in 1986 and who was devoted to her like no other cat. Warm purrs of sympathy to you. Molly had a long, good life... and you gave that to her.

Myself and my human grieve with you at your loss. Know that you are strong though. My human says it takes real guts to do what is best for us at times like that. You are a truely good person and she sends you a squeeze. Molly will be having a wonderful time up there.

The most people who live with cats or other animals, know this sad moments, when a friend is going over the rainbow bridge.

Molly had a very long life on earth - a very good life most of the time, I think. Now she meets a lot of new friends behind the rainbow.

There is a wonderful german video for this sad moments. I try to translate for you.

You were with me until the end,
and when I´m gone, you hold me for a while.
I saw you crying.
I want to tell you, that I understand every thing - you make this decicion only for me.
And it was wise.
It was time to go. I thank you for understanding.
Nobody would take my place. But those, who come now, need the love you gave me bevore.
You always think of me. Then you are very sad.
Please don´t stay in sorrow. Remember how happy we were.
And when the next animal friends have to go forever, then I will wait for them at the rainbow bridge. I will give them thanks, that they made you happy, and I will take care of them - for you.
I thank you for your love, your care and your courage to let me go with dignity.

Alles Liebe/A lot of love

Dear Cat, Tiny and I want to thank you for loving and caring for Molly all those wonderful years. Molly is certainly now an angel and is with you still and will always be...only you can't see her, but you will feel her sometimes when you least expect it. She will rub against your leg when you are sitting quietly or gently nudge your head while you sleep. She will race across the room and you will see her out of the far corner of your eye. She is here; she is there; she is everywhere. But that doesn't make the pain of her being gone any easier for you and she knows that. She wants you to only cry a short time then to give another kitty the love that you always gave her. She won't be sad, she will be happy because she knows that she will always have your love, afterall, love is infinite...the more you give, the more you get. We send you purrs and strength, Lautrec and Tiny

I'm so sorry for the loss that you feel. As you have said yourself, though, Molly was a gift and she brought so much to your life. That can never be taken away.

It sounds like she went very peacefully with love all around her. If it has to be, then this is the best way to pass.

I'm sure you will continue to feel Molly's love around you for some time to come. That has been my experience with beloved kitties who have passed. It's very bittersweet.

I wish you peace while your heart heals. You know that you gave her the best life possible and that should sustain you in the longrun.
