Thankful Thursday

Kip chows down using his new cat bowl
When I started feeding the cats wet food I didn’t have a proper food bowl, let alone five of them, so I used my fine bone china saucers.  After a little while I decided this would not do and went in search of the perfect cat bowls.  This led me to the fantastically talented Melissa Brown, a ceramic artist who hails from California.

Look Jimmy, it's a parcel from America!!!

I found a beautiful cat bowl on her Etsy shop; blue for boys, with an adorable bird buddy sitting on the rim.

The design was already cat tested and approved by her beautiful kitty Rudy the Red and is the perfect weight to prevent them from being nosed all over the kitchen floor.

My bowl isn't moving, how about yours? ...nom, nom, nom

I asked Melissa to make five of these bowls for me and also if she could think of a way to personalize them for my fellas.

Five bowls for five boys!

Melissa creates all of her ceramics with “Only my hands and a few simple tools”, she designed and embellished a different stamp for the centre of each bowl that declares each cat’s initial... C, B, A, J, K!

K is for Kip :-)

Not only are the bowls beautiful and functional but Melissa has made each one a unique piece for my cats and I just love them.

Thank you so much Melissa!!!!

Kip waits to see if Casper will finish all his dinner

All of us love your beautiful bowls :-)

Those are awesome bowls! Do you know that we get fed in PAPER bowls!? How embarrassing!

Those are truly beautiful and I love that they have their initials in them too.

Mom said that Admiral and Robin, bedore Admiral) had to eat out of paper plates! She worked her 12 hr shift rotation and didn't want to wash additional dishes. That was so wrong because how log does it take to wash *a* dish? So when I came to live with her, she bought three beautiful dishes for me. So when one is soiled and she hasn't washed it yet, she has others to choose from. Poor Admiral and Robin. xox

Those are gorgeous bowls! Mommy has only ONE real ceramic cat bowl for us so we have to use HER dishes. She really should check out that Etsy store.

Those are gorgeous dishes and it is so much easier to feed the wet food with dishes like that. We use some dishes that the neighbor threw out. LOL. They work just fine. Hope all of you have a great day.

We love those dishes - enquiring minds want to know if they ever change bowls mid nom?

Wow! You really go all out for your boys! I have ceramic bowls for my kitties, but these are works of art!

I just adore handmade pottery -- I'll have to take a look at Melissa's stuff.

I'm sure their food tastes all the better because it's served up so nicely. All the love that went into those bowls, combined with your own must make for a mighty fine feast!

Those bowls look beautiful, and nice and heavy. Oui Oui personally tests bowls by sitting on the sides and seeing if they tip over. It looks like those would "stand up" to Oui and not tip!

I love the bowls!! And I definitely the idea of personalizing it!! My boys eat from each other's bowls, but still it's nice to have their own :-)

Hello, Cat,

I have a heep of deep plates, made for human purposes, but I never use them for human beings, because I noticed people think it is disgusting to eat from plates used by animals before... But we do have a really performing dish-washer, and I always think "if you think plates used by animals are not clean once they have been washed by the dish-washer, how could you think the plates YOU used are clean???" But, I guess you know, the best thing to do is to play the game on one side and on the other side just love your kids to death!

I am so glad you added Rio to the A-team! :-) She (eh, up to now I thought it was a "he") is beautiful!

Smoochies to the boys and girl,
looloo
