I came home the other morning after swimming and this is what I found...
I had to laugh because this is totally what I believe happens when I leave the house.
One of the cats whistles the "ALL CLEAR", they come running and leap onto the counters where they know they are not supposed to be, roll around on their backs kicking their feet in the air saying "ha ha mum you can't see us!!!" and lounge there for hours.
Then of course when they hear my key in the door or my steps on the porch then they scatter, but for some reason Kip got left behind or wasn't certain of the rules. This is how I found him, doing curly paws and looking up at me with his innocent expression. I knew I should use my stern voice to tell him "down" but I just couldn't, instead I buried my face in his plush fur and smothered him with kisses....but don't tell anyone :-)
Don't you just love his crazy black lips???

Hahaha! :-)
My parents had 3 dogs at a moment of their life, and when they had left to do errands for example, when they came back, the 3 dogs were lying on the dining room table... And their favourite place was the car! Mom let them sleep in the car for hours, this made them so happy!
Ha! Yes, I can hear the boys jumping down from places they ought not to be, sometimes, when I come home or come downstairs. It's usually Nicki, but not always. :-)
Kip is irresistible, especially in that last wonderful photo. Nope, no scolding for him.
Ha-ha, you just rewarded Kip for being on the counter! Oh man, he totally has you where he wants you. ROTFMOL...
Awwwww Kip, you are just so lovely :)
We're not allowed on the benches. But mum knows Suey gets up on them because she steals things and hides them under the bed. There has never been a cat on the bench sighting, though.
That is such a beautiful face. Kiss away!
Audrey is always on the counters. Not Simba, but she is incorrigible. We can't exert sufficient discipline to stop it so have to work with it.
Kip has probably watched our Lucy doing that and copied her - she jumps on the counters all the time - if I make her go down by the time I've turned my head she's back up again - I'm convinced she's addicted to being a little bit naughty!!
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Hee hee. I do love his black lips! Give him a kiss for me.
You've got it right, that's exactly what we cats do!
Kip's lips look so much like Gabriel's!
Oh the secret lives of cats when we are not home...:)
yep - we bet he knew he wasn't in trouble!! Mom caught Caramel the foster monster on the counter last night and he just gave her the innocent face....but she made him get down anyhow. MOL
Tee Hee, now yous will never ever get him off the counter! Yous is wrapped!
Kisses
Nellie
Kip is knows he is special and he purrs to the beat of his own drum.
Great pictures. I'm a counter surfer too. Mom never has tired figured out how to keep me off.
She says I'm a cat and cat's jump!!
Hugs Madi and Mom
Ha Ha!!! OF COURSE!!!!!
Black cats are so beautiful! Kisses on your black and cute nose!
Counters and Cats both start with C so it is the place we obviously will be!
Oh yeah, we suspect that's what happens at our house, too! MOL!
Those kissy black lips sure are adorable. How can you possibly be expected to resist? :)
This is what usually happens at night when they all think we are asleep....,until.....CRASH!!!! :|
Your Kip is a Beautiful boy! Awwww they All are..... That's why they get away with it all ;) xoxo
MOL, Kip, you sure do have that Mom wrapped around your paw. That is so great. How could anyone correct a black cat. They just don't do anything really wrong. Have a wonderful day.
MOL, I completely understand that reaction... Which is why Leo still puts his paws on the table when I'm getting his snack ready..
We agree, he has adorable little black lips! Very smooch-able!
Kip has the same beautiful green eye colour as Malou....as lovely as their yummy licorice lips!
Yup. I'd smother him in kisses too which is probably why I live in a zoo...:p
the critters in The Cottage xo
It is funny, and it s so beautiful
Darn! You figured out what us cats do when the humans leave the house!!
It's impossible to tell off such a sweet little face as that!
Oh Kip, you are such a cutie! You make that counter look REAL good. We would have given you a snorgle too! Have a great weekend kitties!
We admit to loving everything about him!!!!
Well, with a face like that, how could you resist!
Oh cute Kip, did your brothers leave you there alone?
My kids are not supposed to be on kitchen counter in our house either, but one of them constantly gets up. He knows he is not supposed to but he complains when told to get down.
Kip is so funny, just relaxing there with an innocent smile. I love his black lips, too!! I totally understand why you could not be strict :-)
Momma said she wouldn't have been able to resist either!
purrs
Abby
What a sweetie. Of course you can't be angry with him and he exactly knows that :o). I know such situations too, one should be angry but can't really help laughing :o).
I keep my fingers crossed for Casper. That black thing looks really bad.
Have a nice Sunday.
Alex
Thank you for supporting the birthday commentathon and for your help with Marg!
Hope you're seeing improvement on Casper's chin.
How can anyone resist cutie pie Kip?
From your friend in denial
(my cats don't go on the counter... much.)
Yup ~ I think we are better off not knowing what goes on in the house when we are not home. ;)
xo Catherine
Just look at that face? Who could be upset with him even if he did break the rules? At least he's not denying it. He obviously knows he is unconditionally loved. And that is a very, very wonderful thing.
