Hawaii was so lush and green and filled with tropical delights and exquisite flowers, I just had to do a garden post about it.
Mark Twain remembered Hawaiian flowers for decades after his visit. In 1889 he wrote; "Other things leave me but it abides...in my nostrils still lives the breath of flowers that perished twenty years ago."

Plumeria is Mommy's favorite too. She got some plumeria perfume while she was there she liked the fragrance so much. She also brought a plumeria plant home, but it only bloomed once.

Thanks Madi I checked online and yes the flowers look like that family only gigantic...the leaves were up to the roof of the house! The coffee we drank at the Inn was from the beans grown on the property and it was delicious so I just had to take a picture :-)

Just lovely - we lived in Florida for 10 years and many of these plants grew there. The orange one may be a bromeliad. We grew pineapples in our yard and ate them...absolutely delicious!
