Mum has a trick when she starts to feel down about the weather. She and her sister always recite the same poem, it is called Hyacinths to Feed Thy Soul and it makes them smile. I hope you enjoy it too :-)
If of thy mortal goods thou art bereft,
And from thy slender store two loaves alone to thee are left,
Sell one, and with the dole
Buy hyacinths to feed thy soul.

Lovely Poem for Good Thought of Spring !
Archie, I hope your Spring is coming so soon : )
We are being patient here in Ireland too - just when we had some lovely spring weather the nasty forecast now says we may have snow on St Patricks Day :( This Winter is last far too long
Stay warm guys
Dee

We think the poem will work for our Mom too! Spring is almost here!
We're with you on this, Archie! Despondent that winter doesn't want to give up and waiting for our snow storm later today. :-(
The hyacinths are gorgeous, though, and the poem wonderful.

I just love the sweet little poem ~ and I love hyacinths too, they have the most wonderful aroma. Thanks for sharing.

Y'all are more than welcome to come on down here and enjoy warmer weather.....our air conditioner ran yesterday and probably will again today....or maybe we could change places with you, cuz we're not ready for hot weather yet!!!!!!!

Hi Archie - you look so cosy snuggled in your floofy bed. We love your mom's flowers too - very pretty.
luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
We need to send you some of our warm to heat your cold!
We are ready for Spring too. That is sure a wonderful poem to cheer yourself up. We have had a little bit of Spring but looking for that warmer weather. Take care and have a nice snuggly day today Archie.
That is a very sweet poem! Unfortunately, our winter weather is pretty much the same as our spring weather - gray and rainy. The only difference is that it usually gets a little warmer, so I don't have much to look forward to, weather-wise, until summer. Sigh.
I love that poem and so did mommy. :-)
We love the poem and understand completely! When LP first started living with her fellow,he,coming from a very pragmatic culture, didn't understand why she bought flowers and found it strangely frivolous. When she explained they fed her soul,he started buying her flowers. Now,so many years later, he buys flowers every week for her and her soul is fat and happy!
I loved the poem. Yes winter does seem to be dragging on and its time it all went away now.. Keep snug.. Hugs GJ xx
We know how ya feel. We were supposed to get rain this morning, but got 4" of snow instead. Sigh.
We're waiting for spring too. I hope it comes soon.

Feel warm soon! We are coming out of summer here so I have been nice and warm for months.
Flowers always soften the winter blues...as Blue Birds do!
That is a lovely poem for Spring. Hyacinths look pretty and have a lovely smell.
Archie, we hope Spring comes really, really soon for all of you and the snow goes away! Your poem was so wonderful, and please tell your Mum that us kitties and our Momma have her and her family, and her sweet Angel brother Angus in our thoughts and purrayers.
Hugs, purrs and headbutts,
Sabrina, Sam and Simon
Archie, you look a little down, or serious. Those hyacinths are a really pretty sight!
Oh Ben!! Mom has been working all day so I missed you asking me to visit!! I'll be over first thing in the morning!!

Pretty flowers! We so wish we could send some of our sultry weather to warm you up and hurry the flowers.
Love the poem! We do hope spring comes soon for you all (us, too, but especially you guys).
Thank you so very much for your kind words during Maggie's illness, and then when she ran off to the Bridge. We are still very sad, but the care and thoughtfulness of our friends have been great sources of comfort. We are grateful for your friendship.
We just saw the lovely tribute you did for Maggie in your "Friends at the Bridge" section. We are genuinely moved. Thank you. ((hugs and purrs))
What a great poem to get thru a long winter! It's pretty much spring here - with the wind to go with it. And the allergies *achoo!!*
Hurry up, Spring!
I loved the poem and the hyacinths. Spring is sneaking in around here and I hope it is at your home, too. Happy Gotcha Day, Ben!
