Last weekend one of my seven “Cat-facts” for the Versatile Blogger Award was that “Ben is a worrier.” My precious tuxy boy is a little serious sometimes and I can always tell from this sort of "pursed" look he gets on his face that he is bothered.
In the comments section of that post, Milo and Alfie from The Cat’s Meow asked me what Ben worries about. A good question, which I’ve tried to answer with the list below:
The Top Ten Things That Ben Worries About
1. Ben worries about his younger brother Archie and keeps a close eye on him. Once when Archie got shut in the upstairs closet Ben paced back and forth in front of it until I figured out that Archie was inside
2. Ben worries if we get a new piece of furniture or rearrange existing furniture and how this might effect the Feng Shui of the house
3. Ben worries if the level of crunchies in the food bowl gets too low (as if they have ever gone without!) and is not too sure about the bowl itself. I bought beautiful new water and food bowls and it took Ben ages to warm up to them, I was afraid he was going to starve!
4. Ben worries about the dispersal of treats and even though I know he doesn’t like them that much he will line up beside Archie for his fair share
5. Ben worries when I take the nail clippers out of the drawer in the kitchen
6. Ben worries if he hears Molly meowing and will immediately run upstairs and sit outside her bedroom door
7. Ben worries when we sit on the back deck as if some tragedy will befall us out there so he stands on his hind legs and watches us through the screen door or from a window perch and scratches on the glass
8. Ben worries when people come over to the house and hides in the upstairs bedroom under the bed
9. Ben worried last Christmas (his first) when we brought a tree into the house -- then quickly adapted
10. Ben worries when I bring the cat carrier upstairs and put it on the dining room table…well I’ll give him that one, it always means a vet visit
***Ben has been extra worried these last few days with so many beloved kitties from the CB going off to the bridge. He and Molly and Casper and Archie are purring for everyone who is grieving.

Poor Ben! Our human is a worrier, so she sympathizes! We also worry about the cat carrier (who doesn't?!) but we tend to complain, rather than worry, about all those other things. And sometimes that makes the humans change them for us!
Purrs from Franklin, Dobby, and Tasha
Ah yes...the dreaded cat carrier! None of our cats like to see these so both the carriers we use (one hard sided, one soft sided) are tucked away well out of sight in the basement.
We only have to catch a glimpse of the carriers and we start worriting. If only one carrier makes an appearance we both hide until we know we're not the "chosen" one!!
Poor Ben!!!!!!! We will be purring that he can overcome some of his worries!!!!! xxxxxxxxxx
Oh Ben you are just such a sweet boy! Skeeter has 8 out of 10 of the same worries you do.
Poor Ben! It's tough when you're sensitive and you worry about efurrything!
Actually, my Dylan is like that, and many of his pictures have that same worried expression that your Ben has!
Ben sounds more vigilant than worried! What a good boy.
That is a lot of 'good' things to worry about!
Ben we have to tell you, we have all the same worries. We get very nervous when something is moved around or that carrier comes out. And we are totally out of here if a stranger comes to the house. We hope you can stop worrying so much. You are such a handsome cat.
Hey Ben, don't worry about worrying, it is okay!
Hey Ben, someone has to do the worrying! It sounds as if you are really good at it and thanks to your worrying, everything is right in the world...or at least in your home and among your loved-ones!! Good job Ben!! But don't forget that you CAN take a break from that job sometimes...afterall, worrying is a job that can be shared!! Purrs, Lautrec and Tiny
Oh Ben, it has to be tough to be such a worrier! We have a lot of those same worries too - but not the carrier (well some of us at least) because mainly mom keeps it out - so we never know when we have to go to the vet!
Ben I hope you aren't too worried to have a good time at Socks' party. I am having fun playing with you. Just stick with me and I won't let anything happen to you. ~Artemisia
MeWowZa...Ben does have a lot to worry about! He needs some fresh nip we think...
Poor Ben. he really has a lot on his mind to worry about.
It is sad that so many have left so close together lately.

Abby
what beautiful babies you have and so dear.
Dearest Ben, don't worry about worrying because our kitties worry too about the same things you do! Mom worries too which leave only me as the laid back one in the house!! Lots of love, Holly
Oh, Ben, you are a sensitive kitty soul. Many of the things that worry you also worry us. It's so sweet that you worry about Archie and Molly. Take comfort in that you are loved.
-Pip, Smidgen, Minnie
Aw, Ben, you shouldn't worry about those things...well, maybe when the carrier comes out...that's usually a sign of trouble coming! ;-)
I agree...when the carrier comes out..I get so scared I disappear for most of the hours of the day.
Ben Mom tells me their Belle was like you: a little high strung and vigilent. Sometimes they can't believe how LITTLE I worry or get bothered by things. They think fluffy cats have a laid back gene linked to the floof gene.
We think Ben needs more nip and girlfriends!!...A very sad week for the CB...kisses, beautiful friends...Calle, Halle, Sukki
Awwwww .. we are sending Ben some huge PURRS 'cos that's a lot of stuff to worry abowt.
Ben, that is a LOT of things to worry about. I suggest you take naps in between worrying about each of them.
