Livestrong Day!

Livestrong Day has arrived and for the second year the entire Cat Blogosphere has joined in to support the global campaign by going yellow.  Too many of our family, friends and furries have been touched by this horrible disease so we unite today to remember those who have lost their battles, celebrate survivorship and commit to working towards a world without cancer!

This year is particularly hard for me because my brother died on March 2, 2011, exactly seven months ago and fourteen months after his struggle with pancreatic cancer began.

This is the final picture taken of my beautiful brother one week before he died when my mum, dad, sister, eldest brother and myself gathered at his hospital in London to be together one more time as a family and say our good-byes.

Last year when I said Livestrong I said Lovestrong also.  Please be sure to Lovestrong right now all those who are precious in your life, be they two of four legged, because we never know what the future holds!

Many people in our cat community have worked hard for Livestrong Day.  Please visit the beautiful Livestrong Slideshow created by the talented Chandra from Life from a Cat's Perspective at the special We Livestrong Today blog, lovingly created by Jan from The Cat's Meow and Ann from Zoolatry to see all our kitties friends in the Cat Blogosphere supporting Livestrong!

We knew your brother had lost his fight with this evil disease and for you being so very far away it must have been doubly hard not to be there with him throughout this time. Angus was far to young to go like this and we are just pleased you had your last visit and spent time with him.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx

Blogger keeps eating up our comments. We are trying for the third time to leave a few words and hope that three is the charm!

Cat, I know how difficult it must have been to put this post together and I think you did a beautiful job of it.
When I look at your brother's photo I see a gracious, dignified man. A man who not only lived strong, but I also see a man who loved strong.I know when you search for him in memory and in your heart , you honour those qualities in him.In this way, he lives on.

Today we join you in looking to the future and anticipating a world that is cancer free.Today, we send our love out to all who have faced and are facing cancer.

Cat, we especially send our love and friendship to you.

Dear Cat,

Your post is very touching. My thoughts are with you today as you honor your dear brother Angus. Neytiri and Cloon send you many cuddles. I love your term LoveStrong and Jimmy's picture is purr-fect. I used your term in my post because it fit Inka perfectly as she was a kitty who loved so purely and strong.

Thinking of you,
