I spoke to Dr. D. on Wendesday and Jimmy's first set of test results came in (the second set are due on Saturday). There was no presence of any significant fungus which is good news, but that still doesn't tell us what is worng and Dr. D isn't really convinced it's allergic or food related. The next set of results will tell us if it is any kind of strange bacteria that may be resistent to the antibiotic injections that he has received. Bottom line is at the moment we have no clue and it might even be something odd that is clearing up on its own (that would be fantastic but I'm not holding my breath). I asked Dr. D. if Jimmy could come out of the bedroom because he is so unhappy being by himself and I really don't want to mess up his socialization with the other cats which had been going so well. He said ok, so Jimmer has been sprung again and is delighted to put it mildly :-)

In the meantime whether it is food related or not his ears are definitely looking better since he has changed to the venison and pea formula...but geez, did it have to be deer? {{sigh}}

I'll keep you posted as I hear of any developments and hopefully have some fun pictures to post soon of Jimbo enjoying his renewed freedom.

Glad to hear Jimmy is free once more! Hope you find the clue to the spots. I have had my cas get skin issues just from one flea even with flea prevention - thye just are very allergic to flea bites.
We're so glad Jimmy is free! Yippee! Paws crossed his ears clear up all on their own and that whatever this is, is just something odd but not really serious.
So far, so good for Jimmy. I'm sure he's thrilled to be out again.
I really do hope that Jimmy improves. I know he is really happy to be out of his room and have the entire house to be in!! Lots of love, Holly and mom
Aww, those ears have been such a trouble, haven't they? Glad the fungus possibility has been ruled out. Have fun, Jimbo!
We bet Jimmy is delighted to be liberated from is lonely prison cell!! Hope what caused the problems is just a one off.
I sure hope the vet can figure out what's going on with Jimmy soon, but I'm happy to hear he gets to continue his socialization with the others. We're going to be going through some similar tests with Samson. He's got some crusts developing around his ears and the base of his tail...my poor baby. Hopefully we can find out what it is soon.
Well we are relieved to hear the test results are good so far. It sure looks like ringworm in that photo though?????!! But we are glad dear little Jimmy is out socialising again ~ it's so important at his tender age.
Oh, and he looks so like Alfie it takes my breath away!

Glad to hear the news has been good so far! And even more glad to hear that Jimmy has been sprung from his loneliness. :)
We sure hope the vet can figure this thing out once and for all real soon.
I'm sure happy you get to be out n' about Jimmy! Looks like trial and error on the fur problem...close attention to details will no doubt be what solves the mystery!
I hope he gets better !!!
O deer! Well, at least if it's helping Jimmy, the poor thing didn't die in vain.
It's lovely to see you sprung again Jimmy! You look really happy about it.
Your brothers Archie and Ben are on the LOLSpot today, by the way. You might want to visit.
So glad Jimmy is out of solitary! I hope you can find out what is going on with the results of the second test.
I'm happy that Jimmy is out of solitary confinement - but I really wish the vets could figure out what is causing this weirdness with his ears. I think there is a lot of stuff about us kitties that the vets still don't know.
Yea Jimmy we are glad you got sprung. YOU are such a social butterfly you needs your peeps and the other kitties.

We are glad to hear you are allowed out with the others again Jimmy. Hope your ears soon get better whatever the cause is.
How weird and worrying it must be for you. But I'm glad he's out and about again. Purring for a quick solution.
We're keeping our paws crossed!
Have fun exploring, Jimmy!

Hi, Thanks for stopping by at our blog. It's a pleasure to meet yoo. Sissy says to tell Jimmy she hopes he gets to be wif da other cats soon. She had to be by herself for a while too.
Oh that is such good news that Jimmy is free again. I bet he is one happy dude. We are still sending purrs that everyone can figure out what is wrong with his ears. Take care and have a wonderful day.
Yay Jimmy! Freedom! Hope whatever you have clears up soon and you can get on the business of being a kitten.
That's great that Jimmy is free again! Lucky boy.
I hope his condition keeps improving. It is very hard not to be able to know what causes the symptoms... Good news is that he can be free :-) I hope he will be well soon.
