The Versatile Blogger

I would like to say thank you very much to the Fraidy Cats for giving me this award! Now according to the rules I have to let you know seven things about myself.
Hmmm, well here goes...in no particular order:

1. I’m a vegetarian, or technically “Near” vegetarian because I eat fish. I’ve always loved animals and struggled with the moral dilemma of eating them. Then one day while at work, silly Robert sent me an article about the pigs which had me crying at my desk. Well that was it. In spite of loving bacon more than anything, I gave up meat; all for the pigs. That was 3 ½ years ago and I don’t miss it at all….well just the bacon :-)

2. I don’t have any children, which makes the most impossible kind of pet owner there is! I feel a little sorry for my vet because when I bring the cats in I fuss over every single detail.  My cats ARE my children and they are wonderful.

3. I love fashion and decorating and my idea of bliss is pouring over glossy magazines for hours looking at pictures.

4. I don’t watch television

5. I was born in Scotland and in 1968 my family moved to Toronto where I have lived ever since. My parents and my sister live in Toronto also and I have two older brothers who live in England and Sweden.

6. I think Maui is the most enchanting place on earth that I have ever visited and when Robert and I finally decide to tie the knot, that is where I would like to do it.

7. I have been an on-air volunteer reader for the blind and visually impaired since 1999…in my job history, I’ve never stayed at any one company for more than ten years, but then again volunteering is the highlight of my week and working isn’t – LOL!

I'd like to pass this along to three new friends and I look forward to learning more about them :-)

Congrats on your award! We enjoy learning more about the humans that belong to our furiends. Our mom says she admires your willpower of giving up meat...she just can't do it! So she tries not to think about it.

And we are our mom's "kids" too!!

Thanx so much for sharing and ConCats on your award! We LOVE learning about the moms (and dads) on the CB~!!!

Concats on your award and what interesting facts! We think instead of a vegetarian your food choices make you a pescatarian, since you eat fish. Mmmmmm, fish!

Congrats on the great award and it was fun reading about you!

Congratulations on the award! It's fun to read about the humans behind the cats. :-)

BTW, our human drives the vets at her clinic crazy too, because she does a lot of research on things like anesthetic used and its side effects, the side-effects of antibiotics, other meds, etc. She questions everything and absolutely does not implicitly trust *any* vet. Or human doctor, for that matter!

Congratulations on your award! Those are some very interesting things to learn about you.

Congrats on winning the award and it is great to learn more about you. I think we are all nuts about our cats and animals. Good for you for being a vegetarian. I did that for a little while. Hope you have a super day.

It is always fun to learn more about the kitties moms. Our Mom is a vegetarian too who eats fish once in a while - been one for 15 years. If most folks saw how animals were slaughterd for meat, they would stop eating meat too.

Cat, it is so interesting to learn these things about you. It makes us feel as if we know you a whole lot better. Kudos for giving up the meat!

Yes, Maui is lovely, isn't it? The parents visited in 2001 and would love to go back - this time to the Big Island as well. The Dad really wants to go when the whales are there.

You sound like a truly wonderful human being. I can relate to thinking the things you do for love are more fulfilling that the things you do to make a living.

Your kitties are very fortunate to have found you.

Congratulations on your award! Our Mom doesn't eat anything 4-legged because of a documentary on how they are slaughtered. She feels like a bit of a hypocrite because she still eats chicken and fish, but she hopes to change it one day. There's some wonderful fake bacon that she fries up with eggs sometimes, and as soon as she remembers the name, she'll let you know!

Oh, and thank you very much for passing it along to us! (we got a little long-winded so we forgot to mention it:))

My Mommeh doesn't eat meat, either! And we are her only (and true) kids!

Congratulations on your award! My mum says she could not be a vegetarian but she thinks your version is called a vegequarian?

Hi! Sorry we're late on our ComCats! We enjoyed learning about your Mom. Our Mommy was vegetarian for a while, but she eats meat again. She has dietary issues and it works out better for her...and the "air" around her!! Is that TMI? heh heh.
