Hillbillies, Royalty and Businessmen

When I look at my mancats, I am amazed how distinct their personalities are. Yes they all eat, sleep, bathe and do the normal cat things, but they do them so differently!

The boys...different but pals
Archie is a bit of a bumpkin. This is unintentional of course because he is still just a youngster and the world is one huge bumbling adventure. He possesses no “cat cool”, his affection is fervent and obvious much to the chagrin of the others I’m sure. While Casper and Ben saunter with nonchalance, Archie runs impetuously into the middle of any situation on stiff legs with his head and tocks high in the air.

Of the boys, Ben is the typical middle child, intense, serious and a little brooding. If he were human he’d have to be a Bay Street executive because as a tuxy he is too well-dressed for a beatnik poet.

Casper is noble to the core in looks and demeanor.  He is patient, cool and regal, a million miles away from brother Archie. However different though, the boys live in harmony regardless of their varying backgrounds…which we could all take a lesson from!

Then just when I think I have a created this perfect little Shangri-La, I have to consider Molly who is diva, queen, and supreme being all rolled into one. Even her advanced age does not soften her heart and she turns her nose up at her brethren on the other side of her door considering them ridiculous peons who are NOT to be associated with!

Molly mught be more "mature" but she has lovely furs. Your man cats are all handsome - we love to see each cat's personality coming through.

Nicki, at almost 4, still runs impetuously into every situation. LOL.

I think a lot of "non-animal" people don't understand that each Being *is* an individual, with personal quirks and preferences. Each to be cherished in his/her own way, as it is with we human animals.

First, thanks so much for your purrs for Blackie! We are thankful that he has such a great vet. My sister said he was doing great on just the antibiotics so we all hope that continues for a while.

Secondly, this is a great post! We can just picture all the purrsonalities there. (Tasha agrees with Molly - boy cats are boorish peons! Although every once in a while she condescends to play with them.)

It is really interesting how different cats are in personality. Even brothers and sisters are totally different. I have a lot of cats and it is always fun to see how they are going to react to stuff.
Have a great day.

You are a true observer of your Cat Family. Scott and I have hours of fun watching and discussing our Horde and their little foibles.

Molly and Felix sound much alike in temperament; everything not "them" is inferior, including us! Keeps ya humble.

It is always so much fun to see how each cat acts in different ways. They are all cats but yet, totally different! I can almost perdict where mine are and what they will be doing at a certain time of the day. They are both the same in the morning though...they need the food topped off or they think they might starve even though their is always plenty in their bowls! Lots of love, Debbie and Holly

They are all beautiful sweethearts!...All of the girls here have very different personalities and they are biological sisters; they get along pretty well, but they have their moments of conflict on occasion...Happy day, sweet friends...kisses...Calle, Halle, Sukki

We are both very different even though we are littermates. Mum always thinks of me as the older more sensible one even though we are the same age.

My human gasped when she saw that photo of Molly! From behind she looks so much like the kitty she had before me!

Funny! We can just picture the three mancats and their personalities. It figures that Molly, as the only girl, looks at them with disdain! We could take a lesson from the boys on getting along though...

Molly I am so like you....my brothers and sisters are all so different. They get along so well, but I am the intense one and I have to keep everyone on the straight and narrow. That is a stunning picture of you Molly.

They're lovely and I like the way you can see their character in their faces.

For those humans who don't like us felines, we all look the same and act the same. For those humans who DO like us adorable, intelligent, loving, clever creatures, we each have our own distinct personality. Love and tolerance in all creatures allows us to break barriers and see what is really there. Now, as for some kitties not liking other kitties...that is just plain ornriness!! Wow, this is a wonderful picture of Molly! She certainly is a beautiful ladycat. I don't know if I ever mentioned that I had a girl kitty who looked at lot like her, longhaired and calico. Such sweet memories.
