I love the way Ben was weirded out by Jimmy! I don't do that with water, but I do eat my food like that sometimes if I don't like it much. My human calls it playing with my food.
Rosie and Honey Pot also drink like that ...Honey all the time ..and then there is Rusty who likes to wet his paw under the tap. He some times just puts his head under but has got so drenched at times that he prefers the paw method .xx
LoL... your Jimmy has got very good manners! Noah only uses his paws for getting some treats. I ask him "Give paw" and he put his paw at my hand to get his treat. It's funny but I didn't manage to get this filmed. Have a lovely day Alex

Tulip does this too and once in a while so does Leo! I guess they are all multi-taskers...they clean their toes and have a drink at the same time!! Heehee.

Yup! There's one in efurry crowd! Dante does this, too. He usually scratches the side of the bowl and taps the top of the water, first, as well. But then Dante will also pick up his kibble with his paw, exactly the same way.
Apparently, there is some genetic predisposition to this from their wild ancestors -- dipping paws in water, that is.
Oh my, Jimmy, you are so special! My Goro sometimes puts his paw in water and licks, but only once or twice at a time. Jimmy just keeps drinking! I bet it tastes better that way :-)
Eric: I put my paw under the bath tap which mum leaves trickling for us. I let the water run up my paw and drink it from there. Flynn: I eat my food with my paw when it is something I don't like.
I had an adorable black kitty who used to do that! mostly with my ice water.. He had the habit of shaking his paw after each lick though, so I always knew when he had been in it, there were splatters EVERYwhere!
The mom had a little tortie, Minnie Pumpkin, who did that sometimes. She would put all kinds of things in the water bowl - hair clips, rubber bands, bread ties, whatever she could find. Maybe it was safer drinking that way!

My parents' late cat Star used to drink like that, although that was only when he couldn't reach the water with his mouth (drinking from a watering can was his favorite, oddly). I've also caught Melly doing it occasionally with her water dish in the kitchen.

Our cat Black does that sometimes. Maybe it tastes better off the paw. Who knows. As long as he is getting some water. Take care.

Sometimes I stand with my front paws in the large water dish. Usually I do that when I can't tell exactly how much water is in it!
