Vacuum Woes

This is my vacuum and it is broken.  I don't think I have to tell you that this is a crisis situation!
I phoned the nice people at Dyson and told them that with four cats who together shed an entirely new cat every single day, I just couldn't have a broken vacuum.
So they sent a courier to my house who brought a very big box.  Ben stopped playing with his kickaroo in order to give it the once over.
In his opinion it was indeed big enough to fit the vacuum inside.

Jimmy concurred so I packed it up.
While Jimmy checked the tape I called the courier.
Ben said his good-byes...
As the two biggest shedders in the house, Archie and Casper thought it best to steer clear of the whole situation and look as innocent as possible.

Now I'm not a spokesperson for Dyson or anything but it seems to me that if a company can pick-up, repair and return a vacuum in two business days free of charge, they are a cat owners dream!

  2. I wish I bought from them. My Haier washing machine had been on the blink for over a week and the "customer care' people FORGOT to tell me they hadn't filed my report!!!!!!!

We’re taking a blogging break. Back in 3 weeks!

  9. It's OK to give credit where it's due. Plus, giving them props will encourage others to treat their customers just as well.

  10. Our mum has had an evil Dyson for about 10 years she caught the wire and it stopped working - she phoned them and for £70 they came out the next day and put a new wire on and changed nearly all the old parts with new ones. She was more than delighted with her almost new one and we got our ear plugs and running shoes out again!!

  13. Must be something in the air - ours isn't working right either. Maybe mom should call the company - grandpa said he would look at it but it sounds sending it back would be MUCH faster. :)

  14. That really does sound like a great deal and the cats all had such a good time making sure it was all packed up with care. We would love to have one of those. Our house is nothing but hair. Love the pictures. Take care.

  15. Wow! That is good customer service. However I think we speak for kitties everywhere when we say, it would be far better if the sucky monster never comes back.

  19. Yay for Dyson!! MOL at least you received some help packing up the sucking monster. I refuse to be on the same floor with Mom's.

    Mom here:
I've never known anyone to have one but it is very good to know about their service and we will certainly consider one the next time we have to buy one.

  20. We have THREE Dysons! And Daddy loves them all...he's the cleaner at our house. They have great customer service; Daddy sent one off for repair and it didn't cost a thing, either. Although we agree with Sparkle, it's just too bad it came back!

  22. Does it hafta be under warranty for Dyson to do that?? Ours is broken too...has been for a few months because mom's too lazy to take it somewhere to get it fixed. She didn't know Dyson would do this.

(ps...this is the 2nd time it broke too! Mom is not happy with her Dyson and is thinking of trading it in. We're all for getting rid of the rug sucking monster! Oh, but she's using an old one...we don't want you to think that our rugs are dirty.)

  26. That is awesome! Though if your crew is like us when it comes to the sucky monster, I'm sure they wouldn't have mined if it stayed broken :D (Are you sure Dyson picked it up? hee hee!)

  27. That is quite an endorsement for their service. Mom is too cheap to la out the initial purchase price, though.

  28. A broken vacuum?! I only have two cats and I'm terrified at the thought! But way to go Dyson - great customer service. I have a miele, but I think my next vac will be a Dyson. I've heard such great things!

  29. I wish we'd talked to your customer service person! Dyson told us we had to take ours to the nearest Sears store for repair (which is 3 hrs away). When we said we couldn't do that, they told us to take it to the nearest UPS store (which is 90 miles away). Glad you had better luck than we did!
