Happy New Year!

Hello Friends,  well here we are on the last day of 2010, I can't believe how quickly it has gone by.  There have been some significant cat changes in my life since this time last year.

For one, I started this little blog and made a ton of fantastic new friends who have commiserated with me in the sad times and celebrated with me in the glad times.  I cannot begin to tell you how much this has touched my heart :-)

We welcomed Archie into the fold back on February 9, he was such a skinny kitten and now is a gigantic mancat!  He is so good-natured and I thank my lucky stars everyday that he is part of our family.

My darling Molly went to the bridge on September 23, two months short of her nineteenth birthday.  This was my first Christmas without my long-time companion and it was a little tough. Our friends over at Cory Cat Blog have a wonderful tradition of hanging stockings for their bridge angels, these stockings are not filled with toys because they are already full of memories.  This is just about the nicest Christmas tradition that I have ever heard of and we are going to do it too.

And last but not least, Jimmy (aka Ash) came to live with us on October 30.  As I was telling Chrystal the other day he is a purring, cuddling ball of mischief and we love him.  Jimmy has settled in with the boys amazingly well, there is constant playing and galloping around the house and it is wonderful to watch - LOL!

I hope that my cat population is now settled for many years to come :-)

I wish all kitties and their Mums and Dads a wonderful New Year filled with health and happiness, warmth and love!

  2. This is a great post. That is such a good idea to have stockings for all the ones that have gone to the bridge. We would have lots and lots of stocking but that might be a lot of fun. Start working on it now.
We wish you a very Happy New Year and a healthy one too. Take care.

Our past year started out with the passing of our dear little Sophie. We still miss her.
But there was a lot of happiness too, when we adopted three new young ones. Now there is never a dull moment!

  21. Oh, can you hear me purring?? And singing a sweet kitty song? That's how I feel knowing that our tradition of hanging our Bridge Angel's stockings will continue at your home too.

Tomorrow we will take them down, and as we put them up and take them down each year we remember all the wonderful memories we shared as a family.

    Here's to a healthy and happy 2011!

But, we do like your tradition of hanging stockings for kitties in the family that are no longer with you.

"The Boys" and I also want to wish you a very Happy New Year.

It looks like you've got a houseful; each and everyone adds so much love and dimension.

  41. 2010 started with the loss of our boy Crystal. So many have been lost around the blogosphere this past year. It does help to have contact with others who understand. We like Cory's family tradition for the stocking of memories. We have lots of RB memories around here too. Happy 2011.

  44. Yes, it seems for every joyous moment, there is a sad one. However, Molly's life is something to be celebrated. I don't think either one of you could have asked for more -- with 19 wonderful years together. That's a lot of memories to fill a stocking with -- you better make it a big one!

And Archie and Jimmy have both turned out to be such wonderful additions to your family! We wish you all a Happy New Year and may you all live long and prosPURR!
